“Go where you’re sent. Stay where you’re put. Unpack, as if you’re never going to leave. And give what you’ve got.” ~ Jill Briscoe
Do you find it hard to go where you’re sent and stay where you’re put? If so, you are not alone. I want to encourage you to GO and UNPACK as if you’re never going to leave, even if it doesn’t line up with your ideas, or your plans.
In today’s episode, I’m going to share a bit of my story and we are going to specifically look at Genesis 13 the story of Lot and Abram as they go their separate ways. What catches my attention in this story is that Abram gives Lot the opportunity to choose the land he will settle in and Lot chooses the land that was pleasing to the eye.
🌿 The land that looked good.
🌿 The land that looked the most fertile.
🌿 The land that was most beautiful.
You see, Lot made choices based on what his eyes could see. And if you know the story, you know that the land Lot chose was the land of Sodom and Gomorrah, an evil, wicked place. Today, I want to encourage you to make choices not so much on what your eyes can see, but on the leading of God. Why? Because all that “glitters and shines” isn’t always best for you. Many times it’s in the unseen that God moves in unexpected ways.
We can get so caught up (I know I can and do) in what’s next that we don’t fully “unpack” and live. And…we end up missing out on so many beautiful things right now! Friends, don’t be afraid to go where you are sent, vocationally.
